Contest development, ATM exploration, and status

Hello list, In case you have not heard, we're working on developing our village contest program (maybe renamed challenge program) tracked here: https://taiga.getmonero.org/project/michael-vegas-august-2018/us/18/ https://taiga.getmonero.org/project/michael-vegas-august-2018/task/13/ Our agenda is complete, and badge design complete, so a few other tasks are needing attention. For example workshop equipment and ATM. https://taiga.getmonero.org/project/michael-vegas-august-2018/task/52/ https://taiga.getmonero.org/project/michael-vegas-august-2018/task/53/ ATM exchange We'll have the chance to demonstrate how a cryptocurrency ATM device exchanges dollars for XMR. There are a number of difficulties that we can prepare for ahead of time. The task is #52 in the above URL. Up2 computers We're likely to have enough Up2 computers on site to support visitors learning to transfer, trade, mine, and configure nodes. The difficulties expected are documented in task #53 in the URL. Request Please consider researching and planning for use of the ATM and Up2 equipment, as all dependent village offerings may fail unless we have at least a couple people managing those areas. Sales tax in Defcon areas

Hello list, There have been some ideas recently floated relating to avoiding sales tax in our village. There can be no required exchange of value in our village without recording as a sale and paying the state sales tax. Selling at private areas like the party is not part of this stated village policy (made by Defcon not us.) The discussion we still need to have in meetings is how to record, charge, and advertise that sales tax is being collected. This might be a problem with cryptocurrency sales for example, so let's support our treasurers by seeking and sharing advice on the topic. Since there are no conflicting meetings in Meta and the only comment about moving the *next* meeting to 16UTC (originally 15UTC) was from rotten saying "I cannot either say no or yes to moving it to 16UTC", next meeting will be 16 UTC. Yes just to be explicitly clear for everyone, the meeting time for the *DefCon* meeting this weekend (https://github.com/monero-project/meta/issues/242) has moved from 15UTC to 16UTC as this is the DefCon mail distro. Call to Action: Vote Yay or Nay in the next ~40 hours on moving June 16th meeting from 15UTC to 16UTC

It has been asked in the comments of how we officially track the meeting on GitHub (https://github.com/monero-project/meta/issues/242) to move it from 15UTC to 16UTC. I personally have no objections, but I want to make sure we have the most people attend to get best consensus, etc. Please either vote yes or no so I can email out according and give this list / IRC two and a half days notice of the group verdict.
