Directing escalator flow towards our village
by Michael Schloh von Bennewitz
Hello list,
In case you missed it, there are three new Defcon master floorplans
for your review:
https://taiga.getmonero.org/project/michael-vegas-august-2018/us/4/
The 'Nocturnal Arrangement' is quite interesting, but the 'Caesars
Palace Conference Center' map is most relevent to us.
See that we are placed extremely close to where all 25000 conference
visitors will pass by at some point. If we fail to capture attention
while having such a favourable pole position, then we are total
idiots. Let's all take a look, and please make your own plans on
how to channel people from escalator towards our village.
NOVICES
If you haven't been to Defcon before, please note that the escalator
across from our village is used to transport thousands from the main
casino floor (and main entrance) to every other part of Defcon
Caesars. Even people going to a higher floor must change escalators
a few strategic meters away from our village.
There is however a fabricated separating border sometimes blocking
the view of escalator traffic.
We have the main Defcon registration desk close to us and the main
information desk in arms reach of our door. People going to the swag
or chillout areas must pass by our doors. Take a look
(dc-26-caesars-public-1.pdf.)
FLOOR GUIDES
For example, I'm going to make giant floor stickers and place them
when the hotel staff is not looking. They will probably get removed
but not before a few thousand people see them and move towards our
village.
Other ideas involve a greeter rota with a sign pointing to our door,
hand outs at the escalator, or whatever else you decide is good.
Cheers,
Michael
